About Us

At present, Dolphins Resort is a world renowned fishing resort, but in the late 1940’s Lucy Russell’s vision for the Dolphins wasn’t quite as such, but for that of a Tea House. Lucy was previously involved in a similar Tea House in North Vancouver called the Dolphins; thus, the name was a likely choice. Because of the Dolphins waterfront location, the evolution into a fishing resort was a natural step.

The Resort was purchased by the Fitzgerald family, followed by a well known Campbell River Family the Skuses' in 1968. When Clint Cameron came along and started guiding for Dolphins Resort in 1970 at the age of 15, he quickly fell in love with Dolphins Resort (and with his lovely wife Linda). They purchased the resort in 1985 with Clint’s parents Don and Gloria Cameron and since then, they haven’t looked back.

Throughout the years, the Dolphins Resort has been renowned for having the most experienced local fishing guides and was frequented by movie stars such as John Candy, Robert Duval, Jane Fonda, & Merv Griffin. We have since expanded our vision to encompass that of a wedding venue, corporate retreat, romantic getaway, and a fine dining experience. We look forward to providing our past guests with the same level of service and comfort they are used to at the Dolphins Resort, and our future guests with an experience unlike any other.
