Christopher Thrift's commitment to quality and guest satisfaction, made him a natural fit to lead the Anglers culinary team.  Vancouver Island raised, Thrift spent his early life learning and growing up in an agricultural area. Tending to the farm and his mothers catering business was when his fascination for great food began. He worked his way through every position in the kitchen, pushing his desire to get behind the line.

Thrift’s true slap in the face moment for cooking came to him while in France.  Flavours, scents and ingredients were so overwhelming, "it was a sensory overload at every breath".  Immediately upon return to Canada, he accepted an apprenticeship program.  Christopher Thrift’s years of experience is versatile from tourism capitals, prestigious hotels, global cuisine, upscale steakhouses, re-branding and menu development to creating Veneto Tapas Lounge in the newly renovated Hotel Rialto, Victoria, BC (named top ten restaurants in Canada).

The culinary culture of Dolphins Resort, prides itself on supporting the development and training of upcoming culinary artisans.  Christopher is a supporter of the North Vancouver Island Branch of the Canadian Culinary Federation and is passionate about mentoring young chefs pursuing their education.

Wanting to be closer to his family, meeting and falling in love with his beautiful wife and welcoming two beautiful children into the world, somehow Christopher found his way to us. We couldn’t be happier.
