Born in Saskatoon and raised in High River, Chef Jade Berg moved to Vancouver when he was only 18 years old. With nothing but a $100 in his pocket, stack of resumes and a dream of becoming a great chef, he worked his way from the bottom over the last six years to create a name for himself.

Now a Vancouver Island chef, Jade is passionate about re-introducing people to their local food sources with a commitment to educating others about using sustainable and in-season ingredients.

Chef Jade is well known for his involvement and contribution to the “Taste of Home” charity dinner in Calgary Alberta.  This successful event raised over $100,000 for the Ronald McDonald House.  Chef Jade along with 5 of his colleagues were interviewed by Brad Smith, host of Chop Canada and featured on the Food Network.

He spent last summer as a private Chef in the Discovery Islands cooking for families and guests on both their yachts and residences, carefully selecting only the highest quality ingredients sourced from regions where he worked.

"Knowing the humans behind the food we eat" is what drives Chef Jade to develop relationships with local farmers, winemakers and fisherman in our region. Taking inspiration from his mentors, he combines internationally inspired flavours with locally sourced ingredients to create sumptuous and memorable culinary experiences for all of his guests.

We hope you enjoy.
